You may be provided with one or more of the following types of financial support.
Daily Per Diem
Per diem is calculated on a daily basis for the period of program/workshop you attend.
Details will be indicated on your invitation letter.
Accommodation (meals & incidentals are not inclusive)
Accommodation is provided for the period of program/workshop you attend.
Participants are housed at either on-campus or off-campus location during the period of program/workshop.
If you are provided with accommodation support and stay in places we arrange, the bill will be settled by IMS directly. You do not need to pay for the accommodation. Please note that due to limited availability, we may not be able to provide you with the accommodation type of your first choice, but we will do our best to accommodate your requests.
In case you prefer to make your own accommodation arrangements, you will then have to pay the bill on your own. In such instances, accommodation expenses will not be reimbursed.

Airfare
Airfare support is provided for economy/coach class travel via the most direct/connecting route from your institution to Singapore.
Please purchase your own ticket and retain the receipts for reimbursements.
There is a cap for reimbursement of airfare depending on your point of origin.
The amount reimbursed will be based on the price of your ticket or the cap indicated on your invitation letter, whichever is lower.
Reimbursement Procedures
All reimbursement will be settled by cheque/bankdraft.
A cheque/bankdraft in USD or any other major currencies will be sent to you within 4 to 6 weeks after your visit.
Please prepare sufficient cash in Singapore Dollars for your expenses during your stay in Singapore.
In order to speed up the administrative procedures for your reimbursement, we would appreciate if you could bring the following documents to our office on the first day of your visit to the IMS:
- Passport
- Disembarkation/Embarkation Form (usually given on board the plane & completed prior to Immigration clearance)
- Original Receipts or E-Ticket/Receipt (for those with airfare support) The receipt should show clearly the name of traveller, details of full travel itinerary and amount paid.
Prior to your visit, you are advised to forward a copy of the receipt to our Finance Executive (Ms Emily Chan imscec(AT)nus.edu.sg) for verification that the documents are sufficient for reimbursement purposes.
